The Fictional Characters That Do Not Have a Star On The Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Hollywood Walk of Fame found in Hollywood, California is a well-known tourist spot. It features more than 2,600 stars embedded in the sidewalk, with each star dedicated to a celebrity who has impacted the entertainment industry.

The prominent Hollywood Walk of Fame is a veritable who of celebrities, both living and dead. Walking down the Hollywood Walk of Fame, you will see the names of some of the most famous and iconic people in history. Some popular and well-known celebrities have stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, including Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, and Michael Jackson. Most Hollywood Walk of Fame stars is dedicated actors, musicians, etc. Famous fictional characters also got their spot; however, some favorite characters failed to have one.

Some of history’s most famous and beloved characters are missing from the Hollywood Walk of Fame. These characters have appeared in movies, television shows, and even video games. Some may consider these characters to be one of the most iconic and famous characters of all time. Yet, for some unknown reason, these characters have been overlooked by the powers that be in Hollywood.

So, which famous fictional characters do not have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? Cited down are just a few of the most notable names.

Winnie the Pooh:

Pooh is not a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but he has received some praise. Johnny Grant, Rod Serling, and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce all publicly praised Pooh. However, there have been several stars awarded to fictional characters.

Winnie Pooh’s characters received stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, even though Winnie did not get them. In 2001, The Muppets (2001) and The Rugrats (2001) received the stars. In 1990, Woody Woodpecker of the Muppets received a star. All criteria considered, the distinction award may not have been enough for him to become a celebrity.

What could the reason be? There are a few possible explanations. One is that Winnie the Pooh is not American. The character was created by British author A.A. Milne and originally appeared in a book in 1926. While her personality has been popular in the United States, he may not be considered American enough to award a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Another possibility is that the characters are too young. The most recent Pooh film, Christopher Robin, was released in 2018 and starred Ewan McGregor as an adult Christopher Robin. The film received different, mixed reviews and was a box office bomb. Perhaps the lack of success of this film led to the decision not to give Winnie the Pooh a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Godzilla:

Godzilla, one of the most famous animated characters, was first seen in a 1954 Japanese film. It was a huge success and received praise for its excellent portrayal of the nuclear inferno. Godzilla has a Disneyland star, even though he doesn’t have one on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The originator of the term “Godzilla,” a mixture of two Japanese syllables, is still unknown.

In all cases, the feature is an immense oceanic-like creature. Godzilla’s dimensions vary from movie to film and scene to scene. However, it is generally between fifty and one hundred meters tall and weighs between twenty- and sixty tonnes.

Despite his fame, the cinematic goliath did not receive payment for his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Godzilla is also a well-known member of a display ball group. The group has other members, such as King Kong, Mothra, and Rodan.

Why hasn’t this global superstar been given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? One possibility is that, like Winnie the Pooh, Godzilla is not American. The character was created in Japan and first appeared in a Japanese film. Another case is that Godzilla is not considered a good role model for children due to his destructive nature. The character is known to destroy cities and kill people. While this can be entertaining to some, it is not the kind of behavior the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce wants to encourage.

Bugs Bunny:

Stars have been awarded stars to Disney animated characters on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. But Mickey Mouse was not the first animated character to be honored with one. Bugs Bunny remains one of the fictional characters who hasn’t received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Comics and performers have felt the exact impact of Bugs Bunny’s popularity. Dave Chappelle, a child-friendly television fan, has mentioned Bugs Bunny’s humor as an influence.

Six Flags also has Bugs Bunny as their official mascot. In 2000, a four-issue miniseries that featured a mix of Warner Bros. animated characters and DC comic book characters was published. The series resulted from the then-recent acquisition of Warner Bros. by DC’s parent company, Time Warner.

The series showed Bugs Bunny as the wise-cracking jokester we all know and love. He is known to be an honorary member of the Justice League. Despite his accomplishments, Bugs Bunny has yet to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

One possibility is that, like Winnie the Pooh and Godzilla, Bugs Bunny is not American. Warner Bros., a British company, created the character. Another case is that Bugs Bunny is not considered a good role model for children due to his wise-cracking nature. The character is known to make fun of people and get into trouble.

Kermit the Frog:

Kermit the Frog is not a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It is pretty remarkable considering his many achievements. He has been in many films, TV series, and commercials. He even has a few hits singles. It makes him one of our time’s most famous and infamous nonhuman characters.

However, his parents would prefer that their child didn’t have a star on Hollywood’s walk of fame. Possible that you weren’t aware that he didn’t have one. He was placed in an exceptional place and is now one of the most prominent nonhuman characters in modern times.

Rich, Brian Henson, and Lisa Henson were also Muppets characters. Their names are now on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Kermit the Frog is a notable character, even though he doesn’t have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

One possibility that it did not secure a spot is that Kermit the Frog is not American like Winnie the Pooh, Godzilla, and Bugs Bunny. Jim Henson, a British man, created the character. While the character has been popular in the United States, he may not be considered American enough to award a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Another possibility is that, due to his good-natured nature, Kermit the Frog is not considered a good role model for children. The character is known to get into trouble.

Final Thoughts

It’s interesting to think about why some fictional characters got a star and were awarded on the Hollywood Walk of Fame while others are not. Some possible reasons why Bugs Bunny, Kermit the Frog, and Godzilla do not have stars include that they are not American enough or not considered good role models for children. Despite this, these characters remain iconic and well-known worldwide. What matters most is that fans of all ages love them and continue to support their popularity.
